This project is a personal one, created for a friend who fell during the Swords of Iron war. When I approached making the sign, as with any project, I examined the tools and materials available to me and how I could harness them for the story and its use.
The memorial corner that friends built for him is located in a grove near oak trees. The memorial sign is made of a highly durable type of natural wood and brushed stainless steel, so it can withstand the changing weather. The work was done through a combination of tools and good people who helped along the way.
Hanan, 26 years old when he fell, volunteered and returned to reserve duty after the October 7th attack, despite having a medical exemption. Hanan returned to reserve service in the "Hetzei Ha-Esh" (arrows of fire) Brigade and fought alongside them until he was wounded.
Hanan loved nature, quality time with friends, and the landscapes of our beautiful country.
